I discovered the magic of Morocco once immersed in the heart of its culture during my stay in Casablanca. I’m still in awe over my experiences and here’s why:
This beach district attracts many people with its luxury hotels, restaurants, beach clubs, surf & sun. If you’re looking to enjoy a day at the beach in Casablanca, do it here.
When you finish strolling La Corniche you’ll arrive at one of Africa’s largest malls. Morocco Mall features an aquarium, a fountain, ice skating, modern shops, a variety of dining options, an indoor souk (market) & much more. You can even go scuba diving in the aquarium.
At a recreation of Rick’s Café from the film Casablanca, the ambiance and cuisine satiated all of my senses. You absolutely must sample an authentic Moroccan dish.
With merchants selling everything from meets & produce to essential oils & Moroccan style clothes, local life flourishes in the Old Medina where Casablanca’s heart beats as it did a thousand years ago. Just try not to get lost in the alleys.
Casablanca’s central plaza, Place Mohamed V, houses the Bank of Morocco, French Consulate, Palace of Justice, post office, & Prefecture. The music and water show at the plaza’s fountain charms many.
The mosque’s structure extends over the sea as Hassan II stated, “I want to build this mosque on the water, because God’s throne is on the water. Therefore, the faithful who go there to pray, to praise the creator on firm soil, can contemplate God’s sky and ocean.” It truly inspires pensive reflection.
The awe-inspiring sights and thriving city life enabled me to embrace Morocco’s heritage and gain new perspective.
